Consumers in need of these programs need to figure out how much they owe, what they can afford to payback on a monthly basis, and what terms work best for them. Some of the better programs are able to work out deals with creditors that eliminate late charges and other fees. A good example would be debt consolidation programs. Regardless of the individuals with specific settlement needs, that should always be considered a plus. Avoiding any additional fees is a good thing for all consumers.
